Dec. 24 pickup moves a day earlier; Dec. 25 pickup to Monday
Applying the city's paired-holiday rule to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: Thursday, Dec. 24 pickup moves to Wednesday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 25 pickup moves to Monday, Dec. 28. The page lists both days as city holidays but gives no 2026 dates.
The Streets Division does not provide curbside collections on city holidays. A single holiday on your collection day moves pickup to the next work day. For paired holidays such as Thanksgiving and the next day, a pickup on the first day moves a day earlier and a pickup on the second day moves to the next work day after the break.
The page covers curbside collections and the drop-off sites, which are also closed on city holidays. It does not list specific 2026 dates, so the rule is applied here.
Phone: Streets East 608-246-4532; Streets West 608-266-4681 (Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Find your own collection day: city lookup.
