Thursday collections made Wednesday; Monday, Tuesday and Friday unchanged
The city's 2026 holiday notice says Monday, Tuesday and Friday collections remain the same and Thursday collections are made on Wednesday. The notice prints the date as Nov. 27 with the day name Thursday. Nov. 27 is a Friday, and the zone calendar marks Thursday, Nov. 26 as the holiday, so the date in the notice looks like a typo. Check your zone calendar.
Collections do not occur on the listed weekday holidays. The adjusted collection day is one day earlier or one day later, and the zone calendar shows the change.
The zone calendars cover trash and recycling. Brush sites are closed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
