Friday collection moves to Saturday
Applying the city's rule to Friday, Dec. 25: Friday collection and the rest of that week move one day later, so Friday collection moves to Saturday, Dec. 26.
Long Beach collects on most holidays. The exceptions are Christmas Day and New Year's Day: if either falls on a weekday, that day's collection and the rest of the week are delayed one day, ending Saturday.
The page covers refuse and recycling, and a related page lists organics as well. The page gives no 2026 dates.
